With another burglary in the community this week, the 3rd theft within as many months, please keep a look out for suspicious activity.
Remember to make a note or even better, report any suspicious persons, vehicles or unusual activities.

Since our village Home Watch disbanded unfortunately due to lack of support and interest, we still however need to be watchful for each other.

OPC appoints new officers and councilor.
Following the resignation of the OPC chairperson from the council, the councilors elected as their new chair former vice-chair David Hotchkin and he has been replaced as vice-chair by Hillary Gay.
As no public nominations to fill the vacancy of councilor were received the OPC voted to co-op Simon Willis to complete the casual vacancy.

Chairman of Oxborough Parish Councillor Resigns.
John Voden who has served as chairman of the parish council since the AGM of May 2016 has resigned as a parish councillor.
This vacancy still leaves a quorum (four) to serve until the procedures for a replacement are fulfilled.
Breckland Council is aware of the situation and in the mean time an official ‘Notice of the Vacancy’ has been placed on the village notice board.

Yesterday we had reports of suspicious males on driveways in the Ickburgh area. We have had reports of heating oil thefts across the Breckland district. This may not be linked but please be mindful and report anything suspicious to us on 101.
We have also seen an increase in thefts from cars in the Swaffham area. Whereby, power tools and vans were targeted, as well as a quad bike being stolen. Please be vigilant and ensure your vehicles are locked and you do not have anything on display.
Conservators from Simon Swann Associates start work undertaking the restoration of our WW1 war memorial. This follows the War Memorials Trust notification that OPC was eligible for funding of parts of the conservation project and the balance being funded by private donation. Click for photos

Oxburgh Hall update remains
closed but repairs to the Dormer Window are under way. Scaffolding is
due to be erected during the last week of September but the house and
court yard still remains closed. The gardens, walks, pantry and

Oxborough wins £1,640 match funding for traffic speed-calming signs.
Oxborough Parish Council’s application for funds to install SAM signs in the village has been approved
NCC announced the spending list (http://www.norfolk.gov.uk/News/NCC173942) for 122 small scale highway projects this week.
The value of works at £3,281 will provide match funding £1,640 towards the costs. This together with monies raised by the ORSG £820 and OPC contribution of £500 brings the total to £2,960.
